Michael Heap

Chairman

Michael Heap is the Chairman of the newly created Intellectual Property Regulation Board, which was set up to allow Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys to perform their functions under the Legal Services Act.

Prior to this Michael was Director of Development with the Independent Police Complaints Commission being responsible for the regulatory and financial expansion of the jurisdiction of the Commission into the work of the Serious and Organised Crime Agency and HMRC.

Michael is a barrister (non practising) who had a career in the administration of Courts culminating in being Chief Executive to the London Courts Authority until 2005.

Michael maintains his interim management practice and his outside interests include, cooking, photography and (still) motorcycling.
