Bruce Alexander

Bruce is a Chartered and European Patent Attorney and a European Patent Agent Litigator. He has been a partner since 1981 in the Engineering and Designs Group.
Bruce has special expertise advising domestic and international clients on worldwide protection for their ideas, particularly in relation to licensing developments and questions of infringement. He has a wide ranging engineering background with particular knowledge in the fields of air compressors and medical delivery devices. He also has substantial experience in the filing and prosecution of registered design applications and led a successful appeal on behalf of Iveco-Fiat in the landmark 1993 “Spare Parts” design case concerning the Ford and Iveco-Fiat design applications.
Bruce has a MA (Cantab) from Cambridge University. He has served as the President of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) and is a member of the European Community Trade Mark Association. He is also an associate member of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and of the Licensing Executives Society.
